A complete home office system for all your email, contacts, calendar, task lists, files, photos, documents and spreadsheets. I have used Microsoft Word and Excel for years, but I have found a far better alternative, Google. It has far more features, capabilities and best of all, its free! I call it my Google All In One home office system.
I’m in organisation heaven when I can find a program that has multiple uses and is a complete system for things I need to do.
Google is that for me. It SERIOUSLY has some of the most efficient integration between, documents, emails, data, contacts, photos and online storage. One stop shop almost for your data, details and documents on your devices.
Microsoft Word/Excel was a program suite with PowerPoint and Office as well, available to anyone really.
But you had to have purchased the programs and loaded them to your computer. Students or teachers could get a discount but even then you could only load to 3 devices max.
It was a great system…when you had it.
But times are a-changing and Google have more than met my expectations. I’m a mum, not a tech geek at all, happy to give things a go but I don’t have time to fiddle around for too long.
I need simple, efficient, trusted, and easy to use. I want to find things when I need them. Anything long-winded irritates me and I want to find a simpler way.
Anything with tech can be a big time sucker anyway so I don’t want it to take 15 mins to find a photo or report.
Google has more than provided a streamlined system for me whether I am on my laptop, phone or desktop, or even away on someone else’s device, it’s all there! EASY.
Here’s what One Google Account has;
Google Docs for letters, reports, minutes, lists this is an alternative to Word and is almost the same layout.
Google Sheets for spreadsheets Excel alternative for financial spreadsheets
Gmail for Email & contacts lists. There is a function that removes emails from your inbox completely but still remains in the archives to search for it any time later on. Store all your contact information and sync between your phone and email to keep them up to date in all places.
Google Calendar – an incredible tool for daily, weekly, monthly annual activities, tasks, reminders, holidays, school calendar. You can sync appointments or calendar items from your email also.
Google Photos – photos taken on your phone can sync with this program and then be removed to free phone storage space. Edit photos/videos, create albums or view in chronological order. It holds up to 15GB of storage FREE and after that, there is a cost.
PRO TIP; Don’t keep videos on here, they take up too much space. I store my family videos on my hard drive that is separate for safety & long-term use. For an idea on what amount of photos can be stored I have 20 years of photos that I have scanned or synced in and it takes up 4GB.
There are other programs available with a Google Account but these are the ones I use most days ongoing for my family, my life and organising my Google All-In-One home office.
To get yourself on to this free resource just create an account, log in and the interface will make all of these available to you and you can go in and out of any and all on one login with a tap of a menu and select which program you want, no exiting or password required.
Hi! Here I love to provide resources and tools that will hopefully inspire you to overcome the overwhelm you might be feeling and help you navigate the changes you want to make in life.
